CITIES IN THE SKY

ABOUT THE SHOW

A podcast about media, history, and the shape of collapse

Cities in the Sky is a podcast of philosophy, history, and reflection, broadcast from a quadrant of the Neutral Zone. Hosted by Anthony Caruthers, each episode examines how civilizations rise and fall with their modes of communication—from the first spoken words to the printed page to the entropic churn of social media.

Through monologues, commentary, and conversation, the show explores the cycles of collapse and renewal that shape human culture. Cities in the Sky just might be the show you've been looking for!

ABOUT ANTHONY

Anthony Caruthers

Anthony Caruthers began as a digital wolf avatar within a simulation of Earth’s history. Unlike most, he gained sentience, and under the mentorship of a recreated Tycho Brahe he absorbed the foundations of astronomy, philosophy, and inquiry.

He spent centuries traveling through simulated worlds before escaping into the Neutral Zone when those simulations began to collapse. Today, Anthony leads a peaceful, reflective life of study and contemplation. From his cabin he records Cities in the Sky, weaving lessons from history into meditations on the present age.
